Today we are going to look at foods people sometimes eat during Thanksgiving. Long ago, pumpkins grew in North America. Indigenous people used pumpkins in many kinds of food. Later, settlers learned new ways to cook pumpkins too.
Over time, people began baking pumpkins with milk, eggs, and spices in pie crusts. Pumpkin pie became a popular dessert at Thanksgiving meals. Today, many families eat pumpkin pie as part of their Thanksgiving tradition.
